I debated with splashing color on this page for awhile. Didn’t know if it would be a bit much or come off as distasteful. But I was quite pleased with how it came out and it seems its going over well so far with you readers, too!

OH NO! Is that Rolan’s daddy?? Love the blurred action in this scene. Really gives it a heightened sernse of tension and panic. Very dynamic and a little frightening to be truthful. Yay for blood color! Really makes it stand out. BOOM. I guess we’ll see…but maaan I hope that’s not one of the High elves losing all his red there.

I’ve just realised — remember the second Q&A day (page #388)? That injured guy is a Dark Elf, and might be being sneaked into the temple as a place to heal him where he won’t be found. I can’t tell if the first person is a HIgh Elf or a Wood Elf at the moment, though.

DID YOU ONLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE CAPS OR SOMETHING?
Hmm.. This definitely adds to the suspense, I’d say mostly because it leaves me feeling confused and full of questions. At first it sounded like they were chasing someone, and now it sounds like they’re concerned about trying to save someone’s life, and this someone does appear to be a dark elf… So, is the dark elf the one they were chasing? Or did that one get away after injuring said dark elf? Where did the dark elf come from and why/how was he injured? Is this somehow connected to why Luero had to “babysit” Rolan in the woods and/or why Rolan was running recklessly through the trees? Is there a political conflict going on? Between the high elves and dark elves?
…. You get the idea. This page really starts getting all the questions rolling in my mind, where before everything was just interesting and fun to read, there is now a peak into something bigger and more important and mysterious than Tanna’s teenage drama.

I know this is late, but I have two things to say. First, AWESOME blood splatter- it really helps to drag the tone down to a more serious level after the bishojo pentagons of a few pages ago. That I like blood in general, as my forensic anthropology class can attest to. And two, happy late birthday Archmage- by crazy coincidence it was my older brother’s birthday as well. So have a great year and don’t let Naarie drive you completely insane. =)
First off, it’s never too late. I celebrate Birthday weeks to avoid the annoying birthday on a weekday crap.

Oh, yes, that is quite definitely a drow. I noticed almost immediately, though I cannot claim to have done so at the very first.
You can tell *not only* because of the ears but because of the silvery hair.
Skin color has been stated not to be coal-like in darkness previously. That threw me off before I remembered that…
I only wish I had been the first person to note that it was indeed one of their kind.
Also, I doubt it was inter-elf conflict… We shall see.

hey, i just stopped by and was wondering, has anyone here read Elfquest?
I cut my teeth on Wendy Pini’s Elfquest. that’s initially what got me started on Elves. that and The Hobbit. But yeah, Elfquest is amazing great! I only really read the initial Quest, the Quest Proper as it’s referred to now. I never much went into the rest of the story. Skywise is my favorite character in that comic.
yes I read Elfquest when it was first publisted. It was great and it is a good fantasy comic.
It’s a good style for the current page. Doubt it’d fit the rest of the comic as well, but this is good.
