I’M BACK!!
Now for something completely different. Back to the story after the holiday filler last post. What did you all think? Hope the filler comic wasn’t too annoying. XD
Looks like Archmage is having trouble removing the page from the main archive. Hopefully he’ll figure it out eventually!!

This whole danger thing came a bit too cheesy and suddenly, in my opinion.
Cheesy I can understand, but sudden? I mean, if we had the whole village come under attack out of nowhere, sure. However, this interaction isn’t mainly about foreshadowing danger; which you’ll see more of on Friday.
“This and that and this… By the way, we’re doomed.” Sounds pretty sudden to me. Although the village being overrun by enemies would be the acceptable kind of sudden.
And all of a sudden ZOMBIE INVASION!!! :O
Run for your lives!!!
He isn’t saying their doomed. Just that something isn’t right. I think this page fits fine with the story. Just a hint of things to come. Not blatantly foretelling the apocalypse of elven kind. Just my two cents.
Glad you see it that way. That’s what I was going for.
I say keep the filler. It makes you seem more human and less robot. With a M-W-F update. (That has been going on for a long time that is super AWESOME!) You deserve to have a little time off every now and then. The filler is nice to have. That’s my thoughts.
Well, I’m not going to be removing the filler entirely. Just move it to a different section. Something like a “Side Comic” section.
Woohoo! So fillers a go! Glad to have another option if I need it.
Uh…Ohhh! Something’s not right in the Elven kingdoms! 8\
It’s a fantasy series, does anything ever stay right?
Oh I dunno… A story where somehow everything goes right and by the end everyone is left in a state of happiness and euphoric bliss sure sounds like a fantasy to me…
well said, well said
You win.
I kind of understand what Daniil means by cheesy, but I think cliche would have been a more appropriate term. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, just that unsettled spirits have been done before. Personally though, I don’t mind a bit of cheese, I even welcome it so long as it isn’t over the top. Which, in this case, it is not. I would have used something to th effect of unrest in the forest critters ( still a bit cheesy I know) but that’s just a difference in creativity.
I have only recentlly begun keeping up with EFE and I plan to continue to do so for a great while. I can’t wait to see how yall develop the story and the characters.
I can concede to that.
It’s next to impossible to avoid cliches entirely. Guess my best bet is to try to use them sparingly and as uniquely as possible (is it even possible to be ‘unique’ with cliches?? XD).
I was trying to give the Elder a more spiritual vibe which is why I had him refer to the spirits (of the flora and fauna) other than mentioning the creatures by name. Just a choice of words to give his character a little flavor.
And thank you so much for giving my comic a chance!! I’m so glad you like it!! I NEVER get tired of hearing that. XD
Feel free to stick around and comment as much as you like. We’ve almost got a little community building here. It’s fun!
Avoiding clichés is a cliché.
Oh…. dammit!
Is there any way to win??? T^T
Be so cliché that you spawn a super cliché?
Has been done before, thus it’s a cliché, too.
Curses…
To be honest, I was planning on using the word “cliché”, but I was hungry… sorry. lol
Maybe it’s me, but for some reason the whole spirits thing sounded a bit… yeah.
Maybe I’ve just recently watched a movie or played a game with a cliché like that, and that’s why I had such a reaction. Who knows.
But personally I would’ve preferred the trouble to arise by itself, unexpected. As in, you can feel a slightly but gradualy intensifying environment.
Damn you cliches! I swear I’m creative and original!! It’s not my fault it just so happens that a million people thought of this idea and used it a millions times before me!!
This comic is so amusing to read at 3 am…
-checkpoint- (back to catching up with two months of story tomorrow*!)
*or however you spell it, i always forget which(<– took me seven tries to write this one right…) letter to double.
Alright!!
Curious, how long did it take you to read this far? I have a warped perspective of time with my comic since the pages take me hours to do and I’ve been at it for almost half a year now so it feels soooo long. Then again I blaze through reading it since I can anticipate what’s coming so it feels soooo short…. GAAAAAH
