The funny part is that when I went to a party people couldn’t recognize me, between dying my hair black and shaving my beard. That amusement made up for the fact that nobody recognized who I was dressed as.
I’m trying to decide, which is a worse “Super Hero” to cosplay as, the Great Saiyaman, or Tuxedo Melvin, because I have a friend who really did do Tuxedo Melvin one Halloween.
…On an amusing note I was actually Sun Wukong for Halloween this year. (Except I couldn’t do a beard, for some reason my spirit gum* just wasn’t working to stick it to my face!)
Huge “phoenix” feathers, golden robes, staff and all.
*Theatrical glue.
Also? Hooray someone other people that have at least hear of Journey to the West! I had to explain who he was so many times.
And, to keep this related to the comic, you should take the staff Archmage! Become the ultimate code monkey!

Actually, Son Goku was based on Sun Wukong. It’s even the same name only translated from chinese to japanese. The first season of Dragonball was pretty much inspired by Journey to the West. If you look closely you’ll find many similarities.
